My Story

I was born and raised in Japan, and lived in Thailand for 11 years with working as a flight attendant. Along with the former job, I completed 1 year training to be a Holistic Health Coach from Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN) and became an AADP Certified Holistic Health Coach in 2013. I moved to New York in 2014 to pursue further Nutrition education. I studied Anatomy, Clinical Nutrition, Life Cycle Nutrition, Counseling and Culinary Skills.
When I was a child, I was suffering from asthma and atopic dermatitis. On top of that, I had a sensitive stomach. I was totally delicate in health. Thank to my mother, she cooked homemade healthy foods everyday and tried so hard to make me to get over being a picky eater, and took me to swimming school. Eating more vegetables and physical activity especially swimming helped me to overcome my asthma. I strongly believe that healthy diet and physical activity is an essential for the life.

Being a flight attendant was my dream for long time and I loved the job. I loved the life in Thailand and traveling the world.
The only thing I was always questioning myself is, “ is this job healthy for my body and mind?”. The reason why I said that is I often have health problems such as fatigue, headache, stomachache, digestive issue and skin problems because I was working irregular working hours for international flights.

I always carried my medications with me to take them anytime. At that time, I didn’t realize that medication is for stopping the symptom not for resolving the root cause. More over, every medication has the side effects. One of the obvious side effects for my case was making my stomach sensitive.
I came to the point that I was tired of taking medication again and again but still getting same problems. I knew that I had to eat healthy in order to keep up my health but keeping healthy diet was not so easy for a flight attendant. I always had to eat out or buy package foods for my convenient because there were no kitchens in hotel rooms. I was missing home cooking.
I met many flight attendants who have same health issues. Most of them were on medication.
Only way that I can sleep better and eat healthy everyday was giving up my favorite job. It took me a long time to make a big decision.
The education from IIN was strong enough to encourage me to push myself forward. I found my passion to help people to be healthier and happier. It has become part of my life purpose.
